Food Snobs

Every day at around 4pm Pearce and I wait in the Intercontinental Club for Eric to come back from work. While we wait, the Club has an arrangement of delicious gourmet hors devours to choose from to tantalize our taste buds. So, essentially I am eating dinner twice. I can't help myself. The food is so good here in Vietnam. In fact the choices in restaurants goes further than just the awesome Vietnamese food. For example, there is an East Indian Restaurant called the Indian Palace, which Eric agreed with me, was the best Indian food we have ever had, hands down, period. I was worried that eating Vietnamese food for a couple of months might get old fast, especially considering our admitted food snobbery. But I am here to say, that it isn't so. It's quite the smorgasbord of culinary heaven here. And not just in Hanoi. Last summer we ventured into Sapa, the most northern tip of Vietnam, in the highest mountain range enjoying some of the best Italian and French cuisine. Who would of guessed. Not I. One more reason I love Vietnam.

How do they cut the bread in such thin perfect slices?

Eric joins us for drinks and delectable treats after a day of hard work.

Hi Wen!

Love the pictures. Got a chuckle out of your "lawn" experience. I told GrandBoyle and she said, "oh yes, their grass is very secret" to them." :o)

GGrandQuick won't be with us much longer. Her heart has stopped a few times. Anytime now. I won't be going down just yet. Your dad goes into the hosptal on Friday. we'll get there at 5 and 6:00 a.m. they'll be cranking his arm in "all" directions "OUCH" but a must do. He'll be going to therapy almost right afterwards to keep the shoulder unfrozen.

and Ugh! I heard about "Dolly" She was such a sweet sweet pet. She is going to be so very much missed. My heart goes out to the phillips.

Give your little boy a big hug and kiss from Grandmama and Papa. Love you guys! Thank you so much for this blogging. Love the pictures soooo much!

love, mom

Little Pearce looks so great, this is the life you were born to have and of course little Pearce and the Handsome Eric Fit right in as well..I love you all. Please send me Connors e-mail address, I miss him so much. I really need to be able to talk to him. I hope he is also having a wonderful adventure!

I have blogged many times without any success so I hope this comment goes through!!! I have also read all the comments. Pam I am so sorry about Spencer, sounds like he has a lot of pain and agony ahead of him. Please give him my best and know that you are both in my prayers. I do agonize with him and know a bit of what he is going through as I have had two lower back surgery's within the past year and a half.

Oh Dolly, Lorenzo and I are so sad! My prayers are also for all the beautiful Phillips. It is so hard to loose such a sweet and beloved pet. We will miss Dolly as well.

Just to let you both know what is going on here with this side of your "fam" I will now give you the update.

Naomi broke up with her boyfriend, he wasn't that keen when push came to shove to take her to the temple. So, Naomi said "I don't think so, and by the way goodbye", good girl Naomi!. The Twin Falls Temple will be dedicated Aug.24th, Naomi will be blessed to take her endowments on the Aug.25th @ 11:00 am. We were trying to go but it looks like it is not going to happen.

My Doctor has sent me back to work!! I am so happy! Life for me will slowly come back to some kind of reality...There is a San Diego Memorial Day Singles Conference the end of this month and guess who will be there?? Ya, Me!! I have been stocking up on the finest shoes which always makes me feel better.

Grandma Georgia is doing well. Yonna is back in North Carolina, so my household is going back to a somewhat normal state.

I miss you so much, hugs and kisses to you all,

Hi Wen and Eric and Pearce

Great Grandma Quick has past away. Family is now gathering to San Diego. Not sure when the furneral will be. Possibly by this Saturday. It's been almost 27 -28 years that Grandpa and Grandma have been apart. I'm sure this is a very very happy day for them. Grandma Boyle is doing great....but now my dad's brother isn't doing well. He's back in the hospital lung issues etc. Just had heart surgery 3 weeks ago.

It has just been a "crazy" year for loved ones and friends hasn't it?!?

love you all
